Whether you’re looking to sell old jewelry to upgrade to a shiny new necklace, ring, or timepiece, or if you are in need of some extra cash, we’re here to walk you through the process from beginning to end.
Our goal is to provide a comfortable environment for all of our customers – whether you are shopping for a piece to celebrate a milestone, looking for a gift, or looking to sell your jewelry. Our gold buying service is free of charge to you and no amount of jewelry is too big or too small. We’ve seen it all from $5 to over $100,000. So, let’s get started!
Step 1: Think About Each Piece of Jewelry
Our suggestion when beginning the process of selling old jewelry is to take time to think about the pieces you have gathered up to sell. Is it a good idea to sell this piece? Does a piece hold emotional value?
If yes, that may be a piece you want to pass on to your children or grandchildren at some point in the future. Once you have gone through each piece, carefully collect the pieces and head on in to your nearest TJC location!
Step 2: Bring Jewelry to Your Local Jeweler
The next step is to bring your old jewelry into The Jewelry Center (or your local jeweler/pawn shop if you are not in the Milwaukee area). No appointment is necessary at our stores, just let one of our team members know that you are looking to sell some old jewelry. We will sit down with you and go through your jewelry piece by piece and sort your pieces based upon metal type, type of gemstone, or simply what we are looking to purchase and what we are not.
Depending upon our present inventory, there may be certain gemstones or particular sizes of gemstones that we are not interested in purchasing, and we will let you know this while we are sitting down with you. If you are interested in repurposing diamonds or gemstones and still want to sell us the gold jewelry, that is an option too!
3. Receive an Estimate
After separating your pieces, we will weigh the gold and give you an estimate based on the current market prices. If you like what you hear, we’ll buy jewelry with cash right on the spot. Then you can use the money towards your new piece in-store or you can walk out the door with the cash that day!
4. Make Your Decision
A majority of the time, this is where the jewelry selling process ends. However, if you chose to keep some of your gemstones, now would be the time to discuss next steps for customization. If you are planning on keeping them for a future custom project, we recommend storing them in a safe, dry place.
If you’d like to begin creating a new piece with your gemstones, we can get started immediately. Your custom project is completed in-house and whether you would like to simply select a band for your gemstone or if you’d like to custom design a ring or necklace, that’s what we are here for!
